Commander Woolley is a native of Denver, CO.  He began his naval career at the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, RI in July 1998, and earned his commission from the United States Naval Academy in May 2003 with a BS in History.
Commander Woolley’s sea tours include OI Division Officer in USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6), RE/RC Division Officer in USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), Operations Officer in USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG 60), Reactor Training Assistant in USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77), Navigator in USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8), and Damage Control Assistant in USS AMERICA (LHA 6).
Ashore, Commander Woolley graduated from the Nuclear Power Training Command & Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit officer course of instruction and prototype in Charleston, SC in May 2005 and served as the Prospective Nuclear Engineering Officer Coordinator and FRTA at COMNAVAIRPAC from 2008 to 2010.  He attended Surface Warfare DH School in 2011.Commander Woolley joined the Commander, Naval Beach Group ONE staff in November 2018, and assumed duties as Chief Staff Officer in December 2019.
