A native of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, Senior Chief Escoto enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1996, attending basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. He graduated from the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 213) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Board course in 2018.
His sea duty assignments include USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), USS Shiloh (CG 67), USS Chancellorsville (CG 67), Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 (NMCB 5), and Coastal Riverine Squadron 3 (CRS 3).
Escoto’s shore tours include Navy Recruiting District Los Angeles, Navy Recruiting Station Pasadena and Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes.
His current assignment is Command Senior Chief, USS Tulsa (LCS 16) Blue Crew.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and the Navy Good Conduct Medal (seven awards), as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations.
