Command Master Chief Steven M. Rinkavage, hails from Kernersville, NC. He enlisted in the Navy in January 2000, attending Basic Training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, IL. He attended Seaman ATD School, SERE School, Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman School, Special Operations Combat Medic course, Independent Duty Corpsman “C” School, Deep Sea Diving School, Recruit Division Commander School, Senior enlisted Academy Class 199 Orange, and the Command Master Chief Course.
His Sea Duty Assignments include USS Simpson (FFG-56), SBT-20 MKV Det IV, SBT 22 SOC-R RTU-Three Iraq, EODMU2, NSWG-1 CJSOTF-I, AND USS OAKLAND GOLD (LCS-24). His sea duty includes multiple combat deployments to Iraq and the 5th fleet AOR.
Rinkavage’s Shore Tours include NMCP Portsmouth,VA, NHCS Great Lakes,IL, and the United States Naval Academy Annapolis, MD.
His current assignment is Command Master Chief, USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD-52).
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Combat action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (six awards), as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations.
