Command Senior Chief Donald R. Alvarado hails from Tucson, Arizona and graduated from Cholla Magnet School in May 1996.  He enlisted in the Navy in June 1999, attending Basic Training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois.  He attended Signalman “A” School and later converted to Quarter Master (QM).  Senior Chief Alvarado holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Management Information Systems from Wayland Baptist University. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Red Group Leader, Class 205).                               

His sea duty assignments include serving aboard USS Belleau-Wood (LHA 3), USS Essex (LHD 2), USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60), USS Freedom (LCS 1), and USS Boxer (LHD 4).  His deployments include service in the U.S. 5th Fleet and U.S. 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.

Alvarado’s shore tours include the Naval Station Pearl Harbor Port Operations, and Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific (ATGMIDPAC). 

His current assignment is command senior chief aboard USS Fort Worth (LCS 3).

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Good Conduct Award (seven awards), as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations.
