CDR Kellie Smith

Past Executive Officer, USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110)

16 February 2021 CDR Kellie Smith enlisted in the Navy as a Cryptologic Technician (Collection) in 1995.  In 1999, she received an appointment to BOOST.  After completion, she attended Tulane University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

Afloat, she served in USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79) as the Repair Officer, Auxiliary Officer, and Main Propulsion Assistant, USS DENVER (LPD 9) as the Navigator, and in USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) as Weapons and Combat Systems Officer.  She returned to sea as Future Operations planner, Battle Watch Captain, Deputy IAMD and Current Operations Officer for USSEVENTHFLT.

Ashore, her assignments include Senior Watch Officer for NCIS Multiple Threat Alert Center, DoD liaison to the FBI Counter-Terror Watch,  and Global Force Management action officer on the OPNAV staff.
