Senior Chief Sonar Technician (Surface) Eric Juarez is a native of Illinois. He joined the Navy in October 1997. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from University of Phoenix and an Associate Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College.

Juarez’s sea duty assignments include USS Peterson (DD 969); USS Hopper (DDG 70); and USS Milius (DDG 69), including deployments to the Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, and the 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations. Shore assignments include instructor duty at Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, San Diego; Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps coordinator (NROTC) for Navy Recruiting District Chicago; and combat systems afloat training specialist/assessor for Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific.

He reported to Destroyer Squadron One in April 2018 as the warfare tactics specialist and is currently serving as Command Senior Enlisted Leader

Personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and numerous unit and campaign awards. He is qualified as a master and afloat training specialist. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 209 Khaki).
