Master Chief Patton is a native of Springfield, Ohio.  After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy in July of 1996 and completed Recruit Training followed by Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) “A” School in Great Lakes, IL.  He graduated from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, R.I. (Class 192) in 2015 and attended the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course in March of 2017 (Class 17050).  He completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2012 and is designated as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.
In 1997, Master Chief Patton served aboard USS YORKTOWN (CG-48) in Pascagoula, MS as Ship’s Oil King, Search and Rescue swimmer, and MP-Division LPO.  In 2004, he served aboard USS ROSS (DDG-71) in Norfolk, VA as MP-Division LCPO, Command Fitness Leader, and Search and Rescue swimmer. In 2013, he reported to USS STOUT (DDG-55) as Engineering Department’s LCPO “Top Snipe”, Engineering DEPT Training Officer, and CPO-365 phase I and II Coordinator.
While ashore, Master Chief attended Navy Recruiter Orientation Unit (NORU) and reported to Navy Recruiting District Ohio where he served as Navy Recruiting Station (NRS) Columbus West Recruiter-in-Charge (RINC) and Zone 5 Assistant Zone Supervisor.  In 2009, he returned to Navy Recruiter Orientation Unit (NORU) and Navy Recruiting District Ohio where he served as Navy Recruiting Station (NRS) Springfield LCPO, Division 5 Assistant DLCPO and attended the Senior Enlisted Propulsion Engineering Course (SEPEC) in Norfolk, VA.
In February of 2016, Master Chief Patton was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program and in May of 2016 he reported to CNSL Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) Training Detachment as the Senior Enlisted Advisor in Virginia Beach, VA. In April of 2017 he reported as a member of MCM Crew DOMINANT, embarked onboard USS CHAMPION (MCM-4) in San Diego, CA. In January of 2019 he reported to his current assignment onboard USS RUSSELL (DDG-59), San Diego, CA as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Master Chief Patton’s decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
