Command Master Chief Amanda Hackford is a native of Oak Harbor, Washington. She attended Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, Illinois in 1996 and Airman Apprenticeship Training School at Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola, FL.
At sea, she served aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) as an undesignated airman assigned to the Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department earning the rate of Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ), Electronic Attack Squadron One Three Four (VAQ 134) “Garudas” at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, Electronic Attack Squadron One Three Zero (VAQ 130) “Zappers” as Maintenance Control Leading Petty Officer onboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Fifteen (HSC 15) “Red Lions” in San Diego, CA as AZ Leading Chief Petty Officer and Flight Deck Coordinator onboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).
Ashore, she has served at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS-24) “Warriors” in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and Electronic Attack Squadron One Two Nine (VAQ 129) “Vikings” where she served as Maintenance Control Leading Chief.
She was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2016 and is a graduate of the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course and the U. S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 177). Her first assignments as Command Master Chief were onboard USS Charleston (LSC 18) Gold, USS Omaha (LCS 12) Blue, and USS Jackson (LCS 6) Blue.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration Management from Columbia College. Her personal awards include Commendation Medals (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (8), and various unit and campaign awards
