CMDCM(AW) John Tucker is a native of Ellicott City, Md. He enlisted in the Navy in August 1999 and completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. He then reported to USS Trenton (LPD-14) homeported in Norfolk, Virginia as an undesignated Airman.
 
Tucker's source rating was an Intermediate level Aviation Electronics Technician (ATI).  His career duty assignments include: USS TRENTON (LPD-14), Patrol Squadron (VP) 26, Center for Surface Combat Systems (Great Lakes), US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron (Blue Angels), Navy Personnel Command, Patrol Squadron (VP) 16, and In 2017 he was selected into the Command Master Chief program and served in his first command tour at Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 15 prior to transferring to USS HOPPER (DDG-70) in 2021.
 
Tucker is qualified as a master training specialist and holds a bachelor's of science degree in Organizational Leadership.  He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 203) and CMC/COB (Class 187).
 
He has earned numerous personal awards and various unit awards to include two Meritorious Unit Commendations, multiple Navy “E” and Humanitarian Assistance Medals.
