Master Chief Hofmann is a native of Norwich, NY and raised in Newton, NC. Graduated class of 2000 from Newton-Conover High School after which he entered active naval service in September 2001 and reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL. Upon completion of recruit training and Fire Controlman “A” school he reported to Milton, FL for temporary assignment as security. After four months of security duty he reported to Dahlgren VA, and completed AEGIS Fire Control Systems MK-99/Operational Readiness Test system “C” School.
Master Chief Hofmann’s’ initial sea tour was as an FCS Technician-Work Center Supervisor-CF Leading Petty Officer onboard USS PINCKNEY (DDG 91) stationed out of San Diego, CA from June 2003 to June 2010. Subsequent sea tours include, CF LCPO/DLCPO/CSMM onboard USS Dewey (DDG 105) stationed out of San Diego, CA from November 2013 to November 2019. Finally arriving to his present station onboard USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) as CSMM/CS DLCPO, his tour began in January 2020 and will be completed January 2022.
Ashore he served as an FCS In-Service Engineering Agent subject matter expert at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, Port Hueneme, CA.
He holds an Associate’s Degree with honors from Coastline Community College.
Master Chief Hofmann’s personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards) as well as other personal, unit and campaign awards.
He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist insignias.
