A native of Queens, New York, Command Senior Chief Alberto Torres enlisted in the Navy in December 1998. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, he reported to the USS Avenger (MCM 1) as an undesignated seaman recruit. Torres is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 217).

Torres’ sea duty assignments include USS Avenger (MCM 1); LCS Mine Warfare Mission Detachment Two; USS Champion (MCM 4); USS Devastator (MCM 6); USS Gladiator (MCM 11).; and USS Scout (MCM 8) where he served as the operations department leading chief petty officer.

His shore duty assignments include Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) in Ingleside, TX; and Afloat Training Group (ATG) PACWEST in San Diego, CA. Torres’ current assignment is command senior chief aboard USS Omaha (LCS 12).

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
