Command Master Chief Toyna Grace, a native of Dallas, Texas, enlisted in the Navy in 1994. Following basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, FL, she reported to Cryptologic Technician Administrative (CTA) "A" School in Pensacola, FL, and Yeoman (YN) "C" School in Meridian, MS.

At sea, she served aboard USS Oak Ridge (ARDM 1), SSO Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, USS Port Royal (CG 73), and as the Leading Chief Petty Officer of commanding officer/executive officer’s administrative offices aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).

Ashore, she has served at Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, Mississippi, as Leading Petty Officer for N2 Division at Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, HI, as Special Security Representative at the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nevada, and as Special Access Program Security Officer for the staff of Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet. She worked for three Flag Officers in J5, U.S. Pacific Command, Hawaii and Commander, Submarine Group 9, Bangor, Washington, and she was the N1 Leading Chief Petty Officer at Navy Information Operations Command San Antonio, Texas.

She was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2016 and is a graduate of the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course class 17030 and the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy (Purple Group, Class 167). Her previous assignments include USS FREEDOM (LCS 1) and USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60).

Her current assignment is Command Master Chief, COMSURFACEDIV ELEVEN.

Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), as well as other personal, unit and campaign awards.
