Lieutenant Commander Cole A. Greenhouse is a native of St. Louis, Missouri graduating from Parkway West High School in 2005. While attending the University of Missouri he was a member of the Mizzou NROTC Unit and Water Polo Team completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2009, and was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. He holds his MBA in management and leadership from Webster University in 2015.
His first division officer tours was onboard USS BOONE (FFG 28) out of Mayport, FL as the Ordnance Officer and held the collateral of Force Protection Officer from June 2009 until August 2011. While serving as Ordnance Officer and FPO he partook in SNMG-1 deploying to Southwest Asia and the Mediterranean Sea in addition to completing UNITAS LANT AND PAC where he served as the LNO to the Chilean Navy. After receiving orders to USS HUE CITY (CG 66) as the Auxiliaries Officer he attended and completed the PEO course at SWOS Newport. While onboard as the Auxiliaries Officer from October 2011 to July 2013 he completed two deployments to the Persian Gulf as part of the Eisenhower Strike Group participating in Operation Enduring Freedom. As a department head he served as the Operations Officer of Forward Deployed Naval Forces Japan, USS PATRIOT (MCM 7) from October 2017 through July 2019. He partook in the multinational exercise Cobra Gold 2019 and additionally he participated in the ship’s South Pacific Patrol 2019. Previously from September 2019 to November 2020 he filled the billet as the Operations Officer onboard the Navy’s most technologically advanced warship USS ZUMWALT (DDG 1000) completing their first ever live fire event and VLS launch.
Ashore Lieutenant Commander Greenhouse served as OIC Gold Fleet while at TSC Great Lakes and at Commander Naval Surface Group Western Pacific. LCDR Greenhouse is filling his current role as Executive Officer Afloat Training Group Western Pacific headquartered in May 2021.
Lieutenant Commander Greenhouse has served on teams that have been awarded the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Navy Unit Citation and the Battle Efficiency Awards.
