12 May 2021 CDR Noland, a native of Baton Rouge, LA graduated from Louisiana State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.

CDR Noland's sea duty assignments include USS STEPHEN W. GROVES (FFG 29) as Electrical Officer, USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) as Force Protection Officer, Canadian Atlantic Fleet in Halifax, Nova Scotia as Fleet Plans and Fleet Watch Officer with extended sea-service aboard HMCS IROQUOIS (DDH 280), USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer, Commander U.S. SEVENTH FLEET as Branch Chief for Pacific Plans, USS KIDD (DDG 100) as Executive Officer from 2019-2021 then as Commanding Officer from 2021-2022. He has deployed service to the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleet areas of operations.

Ashore, CDR Noland is a distinguished graduate of the United States Naval War College and the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS) in Newport, Rhode Island. He also qualified as an ASW/ASuW Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI), and served at SMWDC Headquarters in the N5 as the branch head for ASW/ASuW, MIW, and AMW doctrine development. He has published academic articles on military and naval affairs in the Naval War College Review, the Luce Journal, and Small Wars Journal.
