A native of Yucaipa, California, Command Master Chief Troy A. Bojorquiz graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1994 and enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1996.  He attended basic recruit training and Hospital Corpsman training at Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, California in 1997.
 
In July 1997, he reported to his first duty assignment with the Fleet Marine Forces at Twentynine Palms, California where he assumed duties as a Field Medical Service Technician with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines and 1st Tank Battalion.  
 
He was competitively selected to attend Dental Hygienist ‘C’ School, attending formal education at Pensacola State College from 2001-2003.  Upon graduation, he converted in rate from Hospital Corpsman to Dental Technician and reported for duty aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.  In 2005, he converted back to Hospital Corpsman as a result of the Hospital Corpsman and Dental Technician rating merge. 
 
In August 2006, he reported for duty at Naval Hospital Bremerton’s Branch Health Clinic Bangor, Washington and, while assigned, completed an Individual Augmentee deployment to Expeditionary Medical Facility Kuwait, Camp Buehring, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.  Shortly upon his return in 2008, he was selected for advancement to Chief Petty Officer.
 
In August 2009, he joined the 1st Marine Logistics Group team at 1st Dental Battalion/Naval Dental Center Camp Pendleton where he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 13 Area Dental Clinic.  He deployed to Helmand Province Afghanistan in 2010 with Alpha Surgical Company, 1st Medical Battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and, upon return, was assigned to 1st Dental Battalion Headquarters.  He was selected for Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2012 and assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 1st Dental Battalion Administration Directorate.   
 
Assigned to instructor duty at Surface Warfare Medical Institute from 2013 through 2016, he served as Course Supervisor, Curriculum Manager and instructor for two formal courses of instruction as well as an Enlisted Technical Leader.  
 
In December 2016, he returned for duty with 7th Fleet’s forward deployed naval forces aboard USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), serving as Department Leading Chief Petty Officer for medical and dental departments.  He was selected for Master Chief Petty Officer in 2017, the first Navy dental hygienist to achieve the Master Chief milestone, and subsequently detailed to Naval Hospital Yokosuka in November 2018, assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Branch Health Clinic at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan.
 
He served as Command Master Chief aboard  USS MUSTIN (DDG 89) with the forward deployed Naval Forces-Japan from June 2019 to May 2021 prior to his current assignment as Command Master Chief of  USS MILIUS (DDG 69), also homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.
 
Master Chief Bojorquiz’ personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards); Army Achievement Medal and various service, campaign and unit awards.  He is Surface, Fleet Marine Force, Aviation and Information Warfare qualified and designated as a Master Training Specialist.  He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, holds an associate degree in applied health science and continues to maintain national and state licensure as a registered dental hygienist.
