Command Master Chief Petty Officer Curry hails from Three Rivers, Texas and enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1994 where he completed Basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois. He began his career as a Deck Seaman. He became a Boatswain’s Mate in 1995 and was selected for the Command Master Chief Program in 2016.

He has served in a myriad of sea duty assignments, including USS Dubuque (LPD 8), USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3), Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit One, USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62), Strike Fighter Squadron Fourteen (VFA 14), and most recently as Command Master Chief for Pre-commissioning Unit Lyndon B. Johnson (DDG 1002).

His shore tours include staff duty with Commander Navy Region Hawaii as the Admiral’s Barge Coxswain, and 3M Team Member for Afloat Training Group Western Pacific. Master Chief Curry is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 146 (Brown).

He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), and various other personal and unit awards He assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief for USS Shiloh (CG 67) in December of 2020.
