FCCS Boes is a native of Lakeview, MI. In 2005, he attended his recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lake, IL. After that, he attended Fire Controlman “A” school at Center for Surface Combat Systems, Great Lakes.
Once completed with his initial training, Senior Chief Boes reported to the USS COMSTOCK in August 2006. While onboard, he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualification. He completed 3 WESTPACs and 2 RIMPACs before departing July 2011.
After a short period in Journey Instructor Training, FCCS Boes then reported to Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit, Great Lakes to instruct Fire Controlman “A” School. It was while in Great Lakes, he received his Master Training Specialist qualification.
In November 2014, he reported to the CIWS and RAM Program Office (PEO IWS 11). He served as the Fleet Liaison for all Phalanx, RAM, and SeaRAM systems throughout the U. S. Fleet, as well as a few of our Foreign Allies. It was while attached to IWS 11 that he was selected to be Chief Petty Officer in August 2015.
His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal, as well as various unit and campaign awards.
