CDR Charles P. Jones

PAST EXECUTIVE OFFICER, USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53)

19 July 2021 A native of Bowie, MD, Commander Charles Jones graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and commissioned through the university’s NROTC program in 2006.
 
Commander Jones completed his division officer tours aboard the USS Shreveport (LPD 12) as the Auxiliaries Division Officer, USS Ponce (LPD 15) as the Main Propulsion Division Officer, and USS Anzio (CG 68) as the Main Propulsion Assistant. Department head tours were onboard USS Porter (DDG 78) and USS Lake Erie (CG 70) as Chief Engineer. During his sea tours, he made 4 deployments, serving in 5^th, 6^th, and 7^th Fleets completing missions across all warfare areas.
 
Ashore, he served in the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command N35 Global Force Management shop as well as the Surface Warfare Schools Command N74 Deputy Director responsible for fleet officer engineering training.
