Command Senior Chief Andres “Dre” Mejia reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill, in January 2003 and began his career as a Seaman Recruit. He became a Master-At-Arms (MA) after graduating MA “A” School at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in May 2003. Mejia is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 220/Gold) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat (CMC/COB) Course, Class 227.

His sea duty assignments include Mobile Security Detachment 33, Mobile Security Squadron Three (MSS 3) in Coronado, Calif.; Maritime Expeditionary Security Detachment 531, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Five (MESS 5) in Imperial Beach, Calif.; Chief Master-At-Arms (CMAA) aboard USS Shoup (DDG 86) in Everett, Wash.; and most recently as Command Senior Chief for USS Santa Barbara (LCS 32) Blue Crew.

His shore tours include service as a Law Enforcement Patrol Officer, Security Detachment on board Naval Submarine Base Point Loma (NBPL), in San Diego, Calif.; Watch Commander for Security Detachment, Naval Air Station Lemoore (NASL) in Lemoore, Calif.; and as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Training and Evaluation Unit, Coastal Riverine Group One (CRG 1) in Imperial Beach, Calif.

He completed five shipboard deployments to the Western Pacific, Mediterranean and Central Command in support of Pacific Partnership, counter-piracy operations during Africa Partnership, and a 199-day combat deployment during Operation Inherent Resolve. He also served on numerous detachments including Exercise Malabar and Rim of the Pacific Exercise RIMPAC while attached to the USS Shoup.

He is currently serving as Command Senior Chief for USS Omaha (LCS 12) Blue Crew.

Mejia has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and various other personal and unit awards.
