Commander Paul Case, a native of Redmond, Washington, graduated from Washington State University in 2003 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a commission as an Ensign through the University of Idaho ROTC program.
In June of 2003, CDR Case reported to the USS Dubuque (LPD-8) during the ships return from operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Designated a Surface Warfare Officer in the summer of 2004, CDR Case was then selected for a lateral transfer to Naval Aviation and reported to NAS Pensacola in 2005. He was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 2007 and reported to VAQ-129 at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, for initial training in the EA-6B Prowler.
CDR Case's initial aviation fleet assignment was with the "World Famous Rooks" of VAQ-137 from 2008-2011. During his time with the Rooks, he deployed with CVW-1 onboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in support operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN.
In October 2011, CDR Case reported to VAQ-129 for initial training in the EA-18G Growler and remained at the squadron until 2014 as a Fleet Replacement Squadron staff Growler instructor. In June of 2014, CDR Case attended the US Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He earned a CGSC diploma and completed a Master of Science in Adult Education from Kansas State University in June 2015.
Following graduation from CGSC, CDR Case reported to VAQ-129 for refresher training in the EA-18G Growler and in November of 2015 joined the "Patriots" of VAQ-140 for his Department head tour. While attached to VAQ-140, he deployed with CVW-7 onboard the USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75) in support of operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
In March 2018, CDR Case reported to Commander Naval Air Forces, Pacific Fleet, San Diego, California as the Air Boss's Flight Hour program manager and VAQ readiness officer and detached from the Air Boss staff December of 2019.
CDR Case reported to TACRON ELEVEN (VTC-11) as Executive Officer in June 2020.
CDR Case has accumulated over 1800 hours and 300 carrier arrested landings in the in the EA-6B and EA-18G. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (two), Navy Commendation Medal (two), Navy Achievement Medal (two) and numerous unit and campaign awards.
