Command Master Chief Damien Brown is a native of Madera, CA, and began his naval service on 23 May 2001 at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., followed by Basic Enlisted Submarine School (BESS) as an undesignated Seaman.  He became a Hospital Corpsman 2003 and was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader Program in 2019. A graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 212/Blue) and CMC/COB Course (Class 201).  

He has served on a myriad of sea duty assignments, including USS Albany (SSN 753); 3rd Marine Division; USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76); and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and as Command Senior Chief on USS Montgomery (LCS 8) Blue, Crew 208. 

His shore tours include Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA; Naval Health Clinic Fort Worth, TX; 1st Civil Affairs Group, Camp Pendleton, CA; and Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA. 

Master Chief Brown has participated in numerous exercises, operations, and various deployments throughout his career.  In 2009, he deployed to Afghanistan with Embedded Training Team 7-5 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 

He has been awarded five Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medals (one w/Valor Device), three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbon and various other campaign and unit awards.  Master Chief Brown is also the recipient of the prestigious Marine Corps League George William “Doc” Piercy Award, presented by the Commandant of the Marine Corps in 2010 for his outstanding contributions to the Marine Corps. 

He assumed duties as the Command Master Chief for USS Paul Hamilton on September 13, 2021.
