Command Master Chief Brockman is a native of Houston, TX. He enlisted in the Navy in 1993 and reported for training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL followed by Operations Specialist “A” School in Dam Neck, VA.
His first tour was onboard USS DALE (CG 19) in Mayport, FL where he deployed to the Adriatic Sea in support of Operation SHARP GUARD. His other sea duty assignments include USS ANTRIM (FFG 20) and USS UNDERWOOD (FFG 36) where he deployed with Standing Naval Forces Atlantic. In 2001 he reported to USS STETHEM (DDG 63) in San Diego, CA where was selected as Chief Petty Officer. During this tour he completed a 6-month Individual Augment deployment to Special Operations Command-Central Command, Doha, Qatar. In 2008 he was assigned to SEAL Team Seven, San Diego, CA, completing combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. In 2015 he reported to USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) in Norfolk, VA as the Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer where he completed a 9-month deployment in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE and THEODORE ROOSEVELT’S subsequent around-the-world cruise and homeport shift from Norfolk, VA to San Diego, CA. In 2016 he assumed the duties as Command Master Chief of USS RUSSELL (DDG 59) homeported in San Diego, CA. In January 2019 he was assigned as Command Master Chief of USS CHOSIN (CG 65), taking her out of caretaker status and into the Cruiser Modernization Program. In July 2021 Master Chief Brockman became the plankowner Command Master Chief of PCU JACK H LUCAS (DDG 125), the Navy’s first Flight III Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer.
His shore assignments include NRD Dallas, NRS Arlington, TX where he earned the Master Chief Bakarian Award for recruiting excellence; Fleet ASW Training Center, San Diego, CA as the Course Manager for the ASTAC (ASW/ASUW Tactical Air Controller) “C” School; and Naval Special Warfare Command, San Diego, CA as the N33 Current Operations Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Master Chief Brockman is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 152 Blue) and the CMC/COB Course (Class 155). He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Expeditionary Warfare Specialist breast insignia and is designated as a Master Training Specialist. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as various unit and campaign awards.
