CDR Frank Megna, a native of New Jersey, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2004.

Afloat, his division officer tours were in PCU/USS KIDD (DDG 100) as Assistant Supply Officer and Damage Control Assistant, participating in numerous KIDD firsts, from commissioning through first deployment. His first department head tour was in USS GARY (FFG 51) as Chief Engineer, deploying in support of Combating Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) operations. He subsequently served as Operations Officer, LCS Crew 202 embarked in USS INDEPENDENCE (LCS 2) and participated in several LCS program milestones. 

His staff assignments include Commander, Carrier Strike Group TEN as Assistant Surface Operations Officer/Future Operations Officer, deploying with the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. He subsequently served with Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic as the Material Readiness Team Military Director, coordinating emergent surface fleet maintenance and pre-deployment support. 

An FTS officer, he commanded Navy Operational Support Center New London, mobilizing Sailors in support of rotational deployments as well as direct support to COVID-19 operations in New York City, Guam, and national shipyards. 

CDR Megna reported in August of 2021 to USS Miguel Keith Gold Crew as Executive Officer.  

CDR Megna is a 2011 graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School with a Masters of Science in Information Technology Management. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 Awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 Awards), and various service and unit awards.
