A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cmdr. John (J. T.) Zablocki began his career in the enlisted ranks in 1995. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School in 1998. Zablocki is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. He also earned a Master’s degree in Adult Education from Kansas State University.

At sea, his tours include USS GUAM (LPH-9), Main Propulsion Division Officer aboard USS RUSHMORE (LSD-47), Officer-in-Charge with Assault Craft Unit FIVE aboard USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA 3), Operations Officer aboard USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52), Patrol Boat Officer-in-Charge at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron FIVE, Assistant Officer-in-Charge at Coastal Riverine Group TWO Detachment Bahrain.

Ashore, his tours include, Scheduling Officer at Fleet Area Control and Surveillance (FACSFAC) San Diego, the Army’s Command and General Staff College, Surface Warfare Enterprises Deputy Executive Assistant at Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific, Chief Staff Officer at Coastal Riverine Squadron ELEVEN, Operational Support Officer at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), and Commanding Officer of Naval Operational Support Center Riverside.

His current assignment is the Chief Staff Officer and Reserve Program Director for Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE (COMLCSRON ONE).

Zablocki’s personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (7 awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards).
