A native of Phoenix, Ariz., Command Master Chief Hanley joined the Navy in November of 1999. He attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Sonar Technician “A” School in Groton, CT graduating October 2000.

His assignments include; USS HENRY M JACKSON (SSBN 730) (GOLD) where he qualified in Submarines, Navy Recruiting District Phoenix, USS CONNECTICUT (SSN 22), USS OHIO (SSGN 726) (BLUE) where he was selected to Chief Petty Officer, USS LOUISIANA (SSBN 743) (BLUE).

After selection to Senior Chief Petty Officer he was selected as the Submarine Enlisted Community Manager, BUPERS in Millington, Tenn.. Master Chief Hanley has completed command master chief tours aboard the USS CORONADO (LCS 4) for their maiden deployment in 2017 before conducting a hull swap to the USS OMAHA (LCS 12). He then served as Command Master Chief of USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70) and completed a C7F deployment in 2019.

His current assignment is Command Master Chief of Commander Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Three (COMLCSRON 3).

Master Chief Hanley is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 195 (Purple) and the Command Master Chief Course Class 130. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development with a major in Human Resource Management.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7 awards) and various other personal and unit awards.
