Command Master Chief Charles “Charlie” Parker hails from Hilo, Hawaii.  He enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard in 1994, as an 11Bravo Infantryman. During his time in the Guard, he completed multiple training exercises in Hawaii, and Japan.  Upon completion of his enlistment, he separated honorably and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1998, reported to Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, and completed PN “A” School at Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi.
 
In June 1999, he reported for duty onboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63) in Yokosuka, Japan. In September of 2001, he deployed to the Northern Arabian Sea to support special operation forces (SOF) during Operation Enduring Freedom where KITTY HAWK served as an afloat staging base.
 
In June 2002, he was selected for flagstaff duty at U.S. Pacific Command Camp Smith, HI.  There he served in the J1 Directorate as a Joint Manpower Monitor, and Element Leading Petty Officer, supporting 7 commands with manpower and personnel requirements.
 
In May 2006, he reported for duty at Patrol Squadron Four Seven Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, HI.  While there, he served as the Personnel Officer and Education Services Officer (ESO).  He deployed to Iraq in 2007 for 7 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In 2008, he volunteered and was selected to lead a Joint Forces Reception Center during Exercise Key Resolve in Seoul, Korea.
 
In May 2009, he reported for duty at Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) Pearl Harbor, HI.  During his assignment, he filled the role of Senior Enlisted Leader and qualified as a Command Duty Officer for Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.  In 2011, he volunteered for an Individual Augmentee tour for 12 months supporting detention operations at Combined Joint Inter-Agency Task Force 435 Kabul, Afghanistan.
 
In 2012, he reported onboard USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) Pearl Harbor, HI to serve as the Personnel Officer and the Navigation and Executive Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.  During his tour, he completed two Fifth Fleet deployments, SRA, INSURV inspection, qualified as an Anti-Terrorism Watch Officer and was the ship’s change of homeport coordinator to San Diego, CA.
 
In 2016, he was selected for the CMC/COB Program and reported for duty as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Littoral Combat Ship crew 206.  His first assignment as Command Master Chief was onboard USS MANCHESTER (LCS-14).
 
In 2018, he reported for duty as the Command Master Chief at Helicopter at Maritime Strike Squadron Four Nine (HSM-49) San Diego, CA.
 
Master Chief Parker is currently serving as the Command Master Chief onboard Beachmaster Unit One.
 
Command Master Chief Parker is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 161).  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management for the University of Charleston. His personal military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 Awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal (2 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 Awards), Army Achievement Medal, and numerous Unit and Campaign awards.
