Past Command Senior Chief, USS Kansas City (LCS 22)

07 December 2021 A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Senior Chief Christi Montes graduated from Boswell High School in 1996 and enlisted in the Navy 1997. She attended basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Ill, and then Intelligence Specialist (IS) “A” school at Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Virginia Beach, Va. Montes is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and holds an Associate of General Studies Degree.

Her sea assignments include serving aboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), where she served as Leading Chief Petty Officer of the Carrier Intelligence Center (CVIC), USS Mobile Bay (CG 53) where she served as Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and the Independent Duty Intelligence Specialist (IDIS).

Her shore assignments include Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nev.; Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Cuba Intelligence Department, US Central Command (USCENTCOM) in Tampa, Fla., Naval Aviation Warfare Development Center (NAWDC), Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC), and Naval Support Facility Redzikowo, Poland as the Command Senior Chief.

Currently, Montes is serving as the Command Senior Chief of USS Kansas City (LCS 22).

Her personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards). She has earned numerous unit and campaign ribbons and medals.
