Past Executive Officer, USS Mobile (LCS 26) Blue Crew

04 January 2022 A native of Limestone, Maine, Cmdr. Matthew Shaw enlisted in the Navy in 1994 as a Builder in the Seabees, was commissioned in 2005 through the Seaman to Admiral-21 program. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Old Dominion University and his Masters in Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School.

His sea duty assignments include Main Propulsion Officer aboard USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), Navigator aboard USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), Operations Officer aboard USS Dewey (DDG 105) and Operations Officer aboard USS Freedom (LCS 1).

Ashore, he served as the Director of Leader Development and the Director of Operations at Afloat Training Group, San Diego, and as the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) Officer in Charge at Commander, U.S. Third Fleet.

He is currently serving as the Executive Officer aboard USS Mobile (LCS 26) Blue Crew.

His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various campaign and unit awards.
