Senior Chief Hudson is a native of Rock Island, IL and is a 1995 graduate of Rock Island Senior High School, in Rock Island, IL. He enlisted in the Navy and completed recruit training in 1996 at RTC Great Lakes, IL. Subsequently, he attended Apprentice Training Division Great Lakes, IL. He reported to his first duty station onboard USS NORMANDY (CG 60) March 1997 where he struck out of OD Division and quickly integrated into OI Division in July 1999. In 2000, he deployed to Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf where he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare insignia and advanced to Petty Officer Third Class.
In June 2001, he advanced to Petty Officer 2nd Class and was stationed at Commander Carrier Group One (CCG-1), ensuring Carrier Battle Groups deployed in the highest state of operational readiness. In February 1994, Senior Chief Hudson report to the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) home ported in Everett, WA. He earned his Enlisted Air Warfare insignia while serving duties as Combat Information Center (CIC) Watch Officer working for Commander Destroyer Squadron Three One (CDS 31). He then transferred to USS PINCKNEY (DDG 91) in San Diego, CA.
Following his tour at Pinckney, Senior Chief Hudson transferred to COMMANDER 5th FLEET in Manama, Bahrain in November 2005 and was assigned to COMUSNAVCENT. During his tour, he qualified Tactical Flag Command Center Watch Supervisor. He then transferred to the USS SAMPSON (DDG 102).
Once onboard SAMPSON, he was command advanced to Petty Officer 1st Class, and qualified CIC Watch Supervisor and Combat Systems Training Team (CSTT). While completing the ships maiden deployment on the USS SAMPSON, he served as Leading Petty Officer (LPO) of OI Division and received his Surface Warfare Coordinator, and CIC Watch Officer qualifications. Senior Chief Hudson served as Operations Department LPO and continued to lead his department until rotating to his next command at AFLOAT TRAINING GROUP San Diego, CA.
While assigned to ATG San Diego as N817 LPO, he qualified Combat System Team Leader, Afloat Training Specialist and Master Training Specialist. Senior Chief Hudson transferred to USS RUSSELL (DDG 59) home ported in San Diego, CA in August 2013 where he served as DLCPO of Operations Department. In October 2019 Senior Chief transferred to Center for Surface Combat Systems Det San Diego where he continued to train and mentor Surface Warfare Coordinators throughout the fleet while being the Master Training Specialist Coordinator for the staff. Senior Chief Hudson is currently at Commander Amphibious Squadron Seven as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
Senior Chief Hudson’s awards include 3 Navy Commendation Medal and 8 Navy Achievement Medals.
Senior Chief Hudson loves to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoys going to church and is a diehard fan of The Ohio State and The Philadelphia Eagles.
