Command Master Chief Loeffelholz is a native of Dubuque, Iowa and a 1993 graduate of Dubuque Senior High School.  He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and arrived for basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in April 1998.

Following Recruit Training, he reported to the USS Fort Fisher LSD 40, with follow-on sea tours onboard the USS Princeton CG-59 and USS Antietam CG-54.  After deploying in support of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, he transferred to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois.  While assigned to the “Quarterdeck of the Navy”, he served as a Recruit Division Commander (RDC).  He was selected in to the Command Senior Chief/Command Master Chief program in 2018 and served as LCS Crew 209 Senior Enlisted Leader from June 2019 – October 2021  Command Master Chief Loeffelholz reported as the Command Master Chief of USS STETHEM DDG 63 in November 2021, where he currently serves.

He is a graduate of CMC/COB course and Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200).  His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit awards.  He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist breast insignia.  He is also a designated Master Training Specialist.
