Master Chief Ramsingh is a native of Guyana, South America and graduated from Saunders Trade and Technical High School in Yonkers, New York. He enlisted in the Navy in October 1994 as an Undesignated Seaman Recruit. A graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Master Chief Course. He graduated CUM LAUDE from Ashford University earning his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social and Criminal Justice.
His first sea tour was onboard the USS Lake Champlain (CG-57) from 1995-2000 and served as Deck Supervisor. His second sea tour was onboard the USS Elliot (DD 967) from 2003-2004 as Deck Supervisor. After Decommissioning the USS Elliot, he would conduct a crew swap with the USS Fletcher (DD 992). After a successful deployment and decommissioning of the USS FLETCHER, he then reported to USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG 57) stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI from 2004-2006 as LPO for First Division and Operations Department LPO. Following his promotion to Chief Petty Officer, his next duty station would be USS CHUNG HOON (DDG 93) from 2006-2007 where would serve as LCPO for First Division. His next sea tour would be the USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) from 2007-2010 as Operations and First Division LCPO. He served as Command Master Chief onboard USS DECATUR (DDG 73) from August 2012 – August 2015, USS SOMERSET (LPD 25) from August 2015 – November 2017 and Assault Craft Unit Five (ACU-5) from November 2017- February 2021.
He is currently serving as Command Master Chief of USS BOXER (LHD-4).
