CAPT Jason Edward Rogers entered Naval service on August 11th, 1991 shortly after graduating high school in Gardner Massachusetts. Upon completion of Boot Camp at Recruit Training Center Orlando, FL he reported to Naval Marine Corps Intelligence Training Command, Damneck, VA where he received training as an Intelligence Specialist (IS).
CAPT Rogers’ enlisted assignments included service aboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) and USS ESSEX (LHD 2). He also served at the Combined Naval Intelligence Command, Chinhae, South Korea. During his tour aboard the USS ESSEX he earned both his Surface and Aviation enlisted warfare qualifications as well as a nomination as Intelligence Specialist of the year and promotion to First Class Petty Officer.
In the fall of 1997 CAPT Rogers was selected for a commission under the Legacy Seaman to Admiral Program. Following his initial training he served aboard the USS VALLEY FORCE (CG 50) as the Damage Control Assistant. His tour included operations in support of counter narcotics efforts in the Caribbean.
As a second tour division officer CAPT Rogers reported aboard USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) as the 2nd Division Officer responsible for underway replenishment and refueling. While deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom following the events of September 11th, he earned his qualification as Officer of the Deck (U/W) and Tactical Actions Officer (TAO).
As a Department head, CAPT Rogers served as Chief Engineer aboard the USS Cardinal (MHC 60) and USS SHRIKE (MHC 62) as well as Chief Engineer aboard USS HUE CITY (CG 66). After serving as Executive Officer on USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62) he went on to command USS SHOUP (DDG 86). Following command, he served as the Surface Operations Officer on Carrier Strike Group Eleven staff, deploying aboard USS NIMITZ.
Shore duty assignments included JOC Watch Officer at USCENTCOM, Lead Joint operational planner COMUSNAVCENT and engineering trainer/assessor at ATG Mayport, Florida. CAPT Rogers recently completed a tour as Future Plan Branch Chief at US Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk Virginia.
CAPT Rogers’ academic achievements include a Bachelor degree in Business Management from the University of North Florida, Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and Masters in Strategic Studies and graduate of the Maritime Advance Warfighting School (MAWS) from the Naval War College. He earned a professional certification in the field of Human Systems Integration (HIS) from the Naval Post Graduate School. Currently pursuing Masters in Education Counseling at Liberty University.
Personal Awards: Legion of Merit, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 4 Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 1 Joint Achievement Medal and 5 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
