Commander Danley was raised in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated from Ohio State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2006. 

At sea, CDR Danley completed division officer tours on USS NITZE (DDG-94) as First Lieutenant and OI Division Officer and as division officer in Machinery Division on USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). After attending department head school, he served as Operations Officer on USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG-93) and then Commanding Officer on USS TEMPEST (PC-2) while forward deployed in Manama, Bahrain. Most recently, he served as Reactor Training Assistant on USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) during her FY2019 Dry-docking Planned Incremental Availability.

CDR Danley served ashore at Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston as Shift Engineer on Moored Training Ship 626. While ashore he earned a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.

CDR Danley’s personal awards include various personal, unit, and campaign awards.
