Command Senior Chief Frank Wilson hails from New Orleans, Louisiana. He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and arrived for basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois in August 2000.
In May 2002, following Recruit Training, he attended Naval Aircrew Candidate School and Aviation Machinist Mate “A” School. Wilson reported to VP-30 in Jacksonville, Florida where he graduated from the P-3 Flight Engineer Replacement Program and became a designated Naval Aircrewman. He then transferred to Patrol Squadron 26 in Brunswick, Maine where he served as a Flight Engineer and Powerplants Collateral Duty Inspector. Follow on tours include: VX-30, VPU-2, VP-4, VQ-1, and back to VP-30. During his career, he completed countless deployments world-wide, accumulated over 6,300 flight hours as an Instructor Flight Engineer aboard P-3 and C-130 aircraft, and became a qualified Full Systems Quality Assurance and Maintenance Control ‘Safe for Flight’ representative.
In 2020, he laterally converted to Command Senior Chief and currently serves aboard the USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) in San Diego, California.
He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 223, Red Team) and Command Leadership School (Class 235).
Personal awards include the Air/Strike Medal (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Volunteer Service Medal, and various other unit and campaign awards.
