A native of Northern Illinois, Master Chief Bemley enlisted in the United States Navy in April 2004 and reported Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. Master Chief Bemley has earned a Bachelor’s of Science in National Security. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200 Gold), Navy Senior Leader Course, the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 26), CMC/COB course (178), and the Joint Special Operations Forces Command Course.
Master Chief Bemley’s career began at Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland Personnel Support Detachment in October 2004. He then transferred to Patrol Squadron FOUR (VP-4) in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii until 2008 when he decided to cross-rate to Cryptologic Technician “Collection” (CTR). While at VP-4 he completed a deployment to the SEVENTH Fleet AOR. After graduating “A” school, he reported to Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Hawaii in October 2009. At NIOC Hawaii he completed an individual augmentee deployment to Afghanistan.
In March 2013, he reported to NIOC Maryland. While attached to NIOC Maryland, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) for the Meade Operations Center’s Special Operations Division in support of multiple Global War on Terrorism operations. In March 2015, he was selected for the Joint Intelligence Brigade in Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he served as a Senior Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Targeter and the Joint SIGINT Targeting and Exploitation Troop Senior Enlisted Advisor. In April 2017, he was selected as the Command SEL for the Joint Intelligence Brigade, Joint Targets Squadron. In February 2019, he reported to the Navy Personnel Command to serve as the Information Warfare Community PERS-408 Branch LCPO, Cryptologic Technician Rating Lead, Lead Detailer, and the Enlisted Distribution Division (PERS-40) Senior Enlisted Leader. In 2021, Master Chief Bemley assumed the duties and responsibilities as the Joint Cyber Operations Group-North Squadron CSEL.
He proudly serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader onboard the Mighty USS CHAFEE (DDG 90).
Master Chief Bemley’s team decorations include, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards). He is qualified as a Surface Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Information Warfare Specialist, Aviation Warfare Specialist, and as a Naval Parachutist.
