CDR Audrey Herrington

Past Executive Officer, USS San Diego (LPD 22)

28 June 2022 Commander Herrington hails from Malvern, Arkansas and earned her commission in 2007 as a Surface Warfare Officer upon graduation from the University of Mississippi.

CDR Herrington’s sea tours include USS DENVER (LPD 9), hull swapping with USS JUNEAU (LPD 10) as the Administrative Officer, USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45) as the Navigator, USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52) as the First Lieutenant, and USS ESSEX (LHD 2) deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Ashore, she served as Squadron Navigator for COMLCSRON ONE and Navy Recruiting Command as the Legislative Affairs Officer. CDR Herrington most recently served as Flag Secretary to Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN/Task Force 76.

CDR Herrington is currently assigned to USS SAN DIEGO (LPD 22) as the Executive Officer.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish Literature at the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science degree in Operations Management, focusing on Industrial Health and Safety at the University of Arkansas.

Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with Gold Stars) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with Gold Stars) as well as multiple unit and service awards.
