Past Command Master Chief, USS John Finn (DDG 113)

04 August 2022 CMDCM(SW/AW/IW) Jessica C. Kerr is a native of Belmont, North Carolina.  Master Chief Kerr enlisted in the Navy in April 2002, reported to boot camp, followed by Electronic Warfare “A” School in Pensacola, Florida.  

At sea, her tours in the Information Warfare include USS PORTER (DDG 78), NIOC Hawaii Direct Support where she was embarked to CTF-70 Staff onboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), USS CHOSIN (CG 65) and USS MICHAEL MURPHY (DDG 112).  She served as the Command Master Chief of USS CHARLESTON (LCS 18). During her sea tours, she has completed 8 deployments to the Indo-Pacific and 2 deployments in the Mediterranean/Red Sea in support of IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM and ACTIVE ENDEAVOR.
 
Her shore assignment was at Navy Information Operations Hawaii. 

Master Chief Kerr is the recipient of the 2016 Master Chief Anna Der-Vartanian Leadership Award. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Justice Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University. Master Chief Kerr is a graduate of the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 210 (Green Group) and CMC/COB Class 196.  

Her awards include Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (five awards) and various campaign, unit and service awards.
