Senior Chief Steven G. Hassler, a native of Wheatland, Wyo., enlisted in the Navy in January 2003. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., he reported to Mineman “A” and “C” School, in Ingelside, Texas.
Senior Chief Hassler’s sea duty assignments include USS Patriot (MCM 7) in Sasebo, Japan, Littoral Combat Ship Mine Countermeasures Detachment Two in San Diego, and USS Manchester (LCS 14) Crew 205 in San Diego.
Ashore, Hassler served at South Central Regional Maintenance Center, Southwest Regional Maintenance Center and Mine Warfare Training Center.
In February 2021, Hassler was selected to the Command Senior Chief Program. In October 2021 he reported for duty as the Command Senior Chief for USS Tulsa Blue Crew (LCS 16).
He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 233 and CMC/COB Course, Class 21120. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards), and numerous unit citations.
