Commander Jason Holbrook is a native of Garden Grove, California and enlisted in the Navy in 1995. He spent 10 years as an Electronics Warfare Technician completing tours in USS JOHN L. HALL (FFG 32), USS MCFAUL (DDG 74) and USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56).  He was accepted into the Seaman to Admiral 21 program in 2002 and received is commission in December 2005. 

Following his commission, CDR Holbrook’s sea assignments include Main Propulsion Officer and Training Officer in USS BARRY (DDG 52), Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer in USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56), Carrier Strike Group Ten Flag Sec / N1 embarked on USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) and as Executive Officer in PCU JOHN BASILONE (DDG 122).  CDR Holbrook has completed 8 deployments to the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf.

CDR Holbrook completed a nontraditional SWO tour at Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training Command.  He became a Civil Affairs Team Leader and lead teams under two different Joint Task Forces deploying to Northern Kenya where he developed and instituted the processes for the first ever Joint Civil Affairs Team and implemented the standard operating procedures for all future deployers. 

Ashore, CDR Holbrook served as the United States Fleet Forces Command lead operational planner for Defense Support to Civil Authorities, leading all Navy response efforts related to COVID-19 and the most active hurricane season on record.

CDR Holbrook reported as the Pre-commissioning Executive Officer in PCU CARL M. LEVIN (DDG 120) August 2022.

CDR Holbrook holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University, a Master of Arts degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a graduate of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) along with various unit and campaign awards.
