A native of Long Island, New York, CDR Moore enlisted in 1993 as an Operations Specialist. She was commissioned through the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 2003 following her graduation from The University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego and is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College.

At sea, she has served on USS Cape Cod (AD 43), USS Kinkaid (DD 965), USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), and USS Higgins (DDG 76). On Bunker Hill she served as Combat Information Center and Ordnance Division Officer. During her tour, the Bunker Hill was awarded the 2006 Spokane Trophy for combat systems excellence in the Pacific Fleet. Her department head tour was aboard USS Higgins where she served as the Weapons and Combat Systems Officer, culminating in the completion of five deployments to Commander, U.S. FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet area of operations.

Ashore, CDR Moore served as a Training Liaison Officer, Afloat Training Group San Diego; she executed an individual augmentation as the Ballistic Missile Defense Watch Officer for the Commander U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa; served as N8 Integrated Air and Missile Defense/Strike Action Officer at COMPACFLT and the Flag Aide to the Commander Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor. Her last shore tour was as USSTRATCOM Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense Deputy Director of Operations, in Colorado Springs.

Commander Moore has been awarded various personal and campaign awards but is most proud of the Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendations, and Battle Efficiency Awards, because they recognize the participation and accomplishment of all crew members.
