Master Chief Roberts is a native of Opelika, Alabama and a 1991 graduate from Beulah High School in Cusseta Alabama. He enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1999 and completed Recruit Training Command and Radioman (RM) “A” school in Great Lakes, Illinois. Master Chief Roberts is a graduate of United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 229 Khaki Group. He holds an Associates of Science Degree in Computer Science from University Of Management and Technology.  

Master Chief Roberts’s sea duty assignments includes tours onboard USS DENVER (LPD 9) San Diego, California; USS GARY (FFG 51) San Diego, California; USS HALSEY (DDG 97) San Diego, California; USS RUSSELL (DDG 59) San Diego, California; USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) Yokosuka, Japan; USS CHIEF (MCM 14) Sasebo, Japan.  His shore duty assignments are Center for Information Dominance (CID) San Diego, CA; Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center (ECRC) Individual Augmentee Afghanistan; Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Manama, Bahrain; Afloat Training Group Command Western Pacific (ATGWP) Yokosuka, Japan.  

Master Chief Roberts was selected to the Command Senior Chief Program in February 2020.  In April 2020, he attended the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course. In July 2020, he reported onboard USS CHIEF (MCM 14) in Sasebo, Japan. He currently serves onboard the USS ANTIETAM (CG 54) as the Command Master Chief.

His insignias include Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist.  He is a qualified Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist.  His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Army Commendation Medal (1 award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (1 award), and various unit and campaign awards.
