GSCS(SW) Gregory Chaney

Senior Enlisted Leader, Mine Countermeasures Squadron SEVEN (MCMRON 7)

12 September 2022 Senior Chief Chaney is a native of Maryland and enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 2004. He attended basic training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. He attended GSE "A" School in October 2005.

Senior Chief Chaney has deployed in support of Global War on Terrorism, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He has completed certification as a Marine Gas Turbine Inspector and is qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare. He is a graduate of the senior enlisted academy class 255.

Senior Chief Chaney's shore tours include South East Regional Maintenance Center (2010 to 2013), and Commander Naval Squadron 14 (2018 to 2021).  His sea tours include serving aboard USS PHILIPPINE SEA CG 58 (2005-2010 and 2013-2018), and is currently serving as Senior Enlisted Leader, Commander, Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7.

He has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (six awards), Good Conduct Medal (four awards), and various campaign, expeditionary, and unit awards.
