Command Master Chief Blake R. Wohl is a native of Burien, Washington. He joined the United States Navy and attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois in February of 2000. After graduation, he reported to Gunner’s Mate “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois.
His sea duty assignments include serving as a Gunner’s Mate Maintenance Technician aboard USS Thorn (DD 988); Ammunition administrator at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Five. Combat Gunnery Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Sampson (DDG 102); and Weapons Department Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Dewey (DDG 105). His shore duty assignments include; Naval Station Rota, Spain, Navy Munitions Command Detachment Point Loma, and Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment West. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 228). He was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2020 and attended the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Leadership School January 2021. Upon graduation he reported as the first Command Senior Chief to USS Oakland (LCS 24) Gold Crew. Senior Chief Wohl was selected for Command Master Chief in 2022.
His current assignment is Command Master Chief onboard USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49).
His personal awards include the George Sirian Meritorious Leadership Award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
