Master Chief Shane Wojnar hails from Lowell, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1995 and upon completion of Recruit Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, he attended Yeoman Class “A” School in Meridian, Mississippi. He reported to his first ship in January 1996.
Master Chief Wojnar’s sea duty assignments include USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64), USS ANTIETAM (CG 54), Carrier Strike Group TWO embarked aboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), and USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77). During these sea tours he has seen multiple Western Pacific, Mediterranean, and Arabian gulf deployments.
Ashore, Master Chief Wojnar has served at Naval Support Facility, Thurmont, MD; Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD; The Naval War College, Newport, RI; Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command, San Diego, CA; three Pentagon tours on the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) Staff; Naval Intelligence Activity, Washington, D.C.; and two tours at United States Central Command, Tampa, FL.
Master Chief Wojnar has served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Naval Intelligence Activity, Washington, D.C. and as the Naval Element Senior Enlisted Leader at United States Central Command. In March 2022, Master Chief Wojnar was selected for the Command Master Chief Program, with subsequent orders as the Command Master Chief for USS FRANK E. PETERSON (DDG 121).
Master Chief Wojnar is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 241. He is a recipient of the Senior Chief Storekeeper Charles G. Zwierzynski Deckplate Leadership Award from the John C. Stennis Center for Public Service. He has also been awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 Awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 Awards) and numerous unit service and campaign awards.
