Past Executive Officer, USS GRIDLEY (DDG 101)

17 November 2022 Originally from Aiken, SC, Commander Brewer graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, after which he attended Officer Candidate School, commissioning in 2006. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Commander Brewer has served as Gunnery Officer and Strike Officer on USS DECATUR (DDG 73), Navigator in USS LASSEN (DDG 82), and Chief Engineer in USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85) and USS VELLA GULF (CG 72).

Ashore, he served as Flag Aide to the J35 in United States Forces – Iraq; at the United States Naval Academy as a Senior Instructor in the Mechanical Engineering Department; and as the Fleet Scheduler for Seventh Fleet. Most recently, he served as the Commander Command Detailer (PERS-410B) at Navy Personnel Command in Millington TN.
