CDR Eric Hernandez

Past Executive Officer, USS Cincinnati (LCS 20)

22 November 2022 Cmdr. Eric Hernandez enlisted in the Navy in 1996. He commissioned through the Seaman to Admiral-21 program and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas A&M at Prairie View in 2006. 

His sea duty assignments include serving as the Forward Boiler officer aboard USS Tarawa (LHA 1); Operations officer aboard USS Devastator (MCM 6), USS Scout (MCM 8), USS Sentry (MCM 3), and USS Champion (MCM 4); and Combat Systems Officer and Operations officer aboard USS Jackson (LCS 6). 

His shore duty assignments include serving as a J39 Mission Commander on the Joint Chiefs of Staff; as Operations Officer of CTF- 52/Mine Countermeasures Squadron Five; as Chief Staff Officer, Mine Countermeasures Squadron THREE and Mine Division TWELVE.

He is currently assigned as the Executive Officer for USS Cincinnati (LCS 20).

Hernandez’ personal wards include Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and Good Conduct Medal (three awards).
