23 November 2022 Command Master Chief Thomas Peterson is a native of Hollywood, Fla. He completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Ill. and follow on Hospital Corpsman “A” School in 2002. Additionally, Peterson is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 205 and CMC/COB School.

At sea, Peterson’s assignments include serving aboard USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), USS Ardent (MCM 12), USS Sentry (MCM 3) as the ship 3MC and Navigation/Executive Leading Chief Petty Officer and USS Boxer (LHD 4) as the 3MC.

Ashore, Peterson’s assignments include National Naval Medical Center Bethesda; II Marine Expeditionary Forces, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as a Field Corpsman; Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune; I Marine Expeditionary Force, First Marine Division; Navy Medicine Operational Training Command, Detachment Naval Survival Training Institute, Aviation Survival Training Center Patuxent River; 1st Marine Regiment as the Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL); Command Senior Enlisted Leader for USS Coronado (LCS 4).

Peterson currently serves as the Command Master Chief for USS Savannah (LCS 28) Blue crew.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Purple Heart, the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (seven awards), the Combat Action Ribbon, numerous campaign medals, and other personal medals.
