CDR Kalen Hickey

Executive Officer, USS Augusta (LCS 34) Blue Crew

14 December 2022 Lt. Cmdr. Kalen Hickey is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He received his commission from the Naval Reserve Officer Training Course at Miami University in Ohio in 2007, with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Hickey holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from American Military University.

At sea, he served as First Lieutenant aboard USS O’Kane (DDG 77); Damage Control Assistant aboard USS Defender (MCM 2); and as commissioning weapons officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS John Finn (DDG 113).

Ashore, he completed tours as a nuclear recruiter and division officer at Navy Recruiting District San Antonio; and as the operations officer at Naval Surface Group, Western Pacific.

His current assignment is as executive officer of USS Augusta (LCS 34) Blue crew.

His decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (seven awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various individual and unit campaign awards.
