Commander Tim Scheidler is a native of and raised in Muncie, Indiana. Following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2004 and advanced helicopter training, he was designated a Naval Aviator and assigned to the HSL/HSM community. He is also a designated Naval Strategist and Politico-Military Scholar.

In 2007, he was assigned to HSL-45 and deployed twice to FIFTH Fleet in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and counter-piracy operations aboard USS CAPE ST GEORGE (CG 71) and USS RENTZ (FFG 46).

In 2010, he was assigned to the HSM Weapons School Pacific and earned his Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor patch at the Naval Air Warfare Development Center in Fallon, Nevada. Subsequently, he was stationed at HSL-49 as the squadron WTI.

CDR Scheidler was selected as a Politico-Military Masters scholar and earned his degree in International Affairs at the University of California, San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy, specializing in Strategic Studies with a concentration on China. Upon the conclusion of his program, he was awarded the 2300P Naval Strategy subspecialty code and the 24A Pol-Mil Additional Qualification Designation.

He forward-deployed to HSM-51 in Atsugi, Japan in 2016 and served as squadron Maintenance Officer, Training Officer, Safety Officer, and Detachment Officer-in-Charge (OIC) at sea. He deployed twice onboard USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85) supporting the USS RONALD REAGAN Carrier Strike Group and regional alliances.

In 2018, he reported to the Joint Staff J-5, Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy. He served as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director of Strategic Stability, supporting five divisions covering Nuclear, Space, Cyber, Missile Defense, and Arms Control policy for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also worked as an Action Officer for the Deputy Directorate for Countering Threats and International Cooperation, specializing in Security Cooperation Strategy.

He was proud to join Team Peregrine as the Executive Officer in September 2021 and became the 53rd Commanding Officer of TACRON 11 in December 2022.

His awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and other personal, service, unit, and campaign awards.
