Master Chief Galvan is a native of Banquete, Texas. He graduated from Banquete High School and enlisted in the Navy 28 August 1996. He attended Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, where he also completed Fireman Apprenticeship Training School at Naval Training Center Great Lakes, Ill.
His sea duty assignments have included USS EMORY S. LAND (AS-39), USS LASALLE (AGF-3), USS DUBUQUE (LPD-8), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73), and USS PORTLAND (LPD-27). MMCM Galvan reported for duty to AMPHIBIOUS SQUADRON SEVEN as the Senior Enlisted Leader in June of 2022.
His shore duty assignments have included Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, Training Support Center, San Diego California, and Commander Naval Air Forces San Diego, California.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 stars) and various unit and campaign awards. He graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management in 2010.
